Some great progress is being made on the new site
It’s a few months ago now that we announced our move to a £6 million new production facility in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
It’s all part of our continued expansion plans, as we relocate from our current premises in Sutherland road, Longton to new world-class facilities in Lymedale Business Park, Coaldale, Staffordshire.
Our team has been extremely busy installing new machinery, signage and production line equipment.
During July …
We accepted the delivery of the TRUMPF machine and installed the new signage which featured our new logo colours. The blue is in alignment with our parent company Novoferm Group where their branding is blue and white and the new move marks the start of the process of incorporating those colours into Robust’s logo going forward to ensure everything is on brand and aligned to the group’s vision and values.
During August …
The TRUMPf Tru Punch 5000 installation has neared its completion and work on the TRUMPF Trubend Center 7030 installation continues, while the Kardex machines have been moved into position and installed while work continues on the new powder coat line.
Robust currently employ 150 staff but that number is growing as our client numbers continue to increase. We have ambitious plans for the new facility and to continue to grow by 50% by 2030.
Managing Director at Robust UK David Lycett said: “It’s a really exciting time for Robust UK as this is just the start of a major financial investment in our future and our growth plans. We have been looking to move to bigger, better facilities for some time, but we wanted to find the perfect location not just to meet our manufacturing needs but the right location for our staff too. We’ve made the announcement over this last week and everyone’s really excited about the move.
He added: “It’s not the first time we’ve moved. We actually started our journey from a factory in Tean when we were founded in 1997. We then moved to bigger premises in Cheadle as our business grew before moving again to our current home in Longton. Back in 2018 we invested £2 million into our existing site which allowed us to relocate the semi-automated production line from our facilities in Sweden, to the UK, significantly increasing our production capacity. Five years on though we have grown exponentially and have literally outgrown our current site. The new facilities are going to be state of the art and will have enough space so we can continue our exciting growth plans for the future. The new world-class facility will be fully furnished with new equipment to ensure there is no loss of production between sites while moving.”
